ABOUT
Matthew was a grand finalist in BBC Young Dancer 2019 after winning the contemporary category final. His current projects include commissions from Manchester International Festival, Homotopia and Corn Exchange Newbury.

Recent work includes performing as a guest artist on Kneehigh Theatre's recent tour, movement direction for The Kissing Rebellion (Oval House) choreography for The Sun Rose (LEAP Dance Festival, Resolution Festival and The Posh Club), associate choreography for BOYS at Southbank Centre for London International Mime Festival and A lady not called Margaret, Brenda or Margery (Queens Hall Digital).
Upcoming performance work includes WRECK-List of extinct species by AEROWAVES Twenty18 Artist Pietro Marullo and Sandrine Monin's Monolith.

Matthew’s most recent choreographic work based on the life and legacy of Alan Turing, Hockey (or watching the daises grow) has been performed at The Royal Opera House, Southbank Centre, Birmingham Hippodrome, Latitude Festival and SICK Festival.

Matthew is also interested in film and has recently created two short dance films: 05/12/18 and all the clothes we left in the closet, the first made the official selection for Seyr Festival (screendance festival in Iran) Flock Festival (Leeds) and Lift-Off Sessions (Pinewood Studios) the latter was screened at Super! International Film Festival (Romania), Little Islands Festival (Greece), Filmed Up (HOME Manchester), Queer Cinema Club (The Yard Theatre) and won best film at TW1 Film Festival.
Outside of dance Matthew loves Spoken Word, hip-hop trio Young Fathers, noughties sitcom Gilmore Girls and milk chocolate digestive biscuits.
